Merbau decking is a plantation timber native to Indonesia. It is highly durable, rich in brown and redish colours, with a very consistent grain. It has been a very popular choice for hardwood decking for several years, with its proven durability and quality. It has a reeded underside and is available in stock at Provans in two different sizes: 90 x 19 and 140 x 19mm. It is also machined in 70 x 19mm to order only.
Provans is currently stocking the 140x19mm decking which has been pre-oiled with Intergrain Universal Oil. The decking has been machine coated to ensure all six sides have had their first coat of oil, ensuring the very important protection on the underside – the most exposed to the soil.
It is recommended that one additional coat is completed once the deck has been laid, for some extra longevity of the boards. Provans is a stockist of all Intergrain products, as well as the UV colour stains.
